Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is pleased with the Spanish national team's decision to omit Diego Costa from the squad that will play in the upcoming international break.

It can be recalled that the Portuguese overseer has had issues with Spain's manager Vicente del Bosque in recent past, after Diego Costa went back to Stamford Bridge unfit with an injury allegedly incurred while on international duty.

Costa has since recovered and has hit the ground running in the Premier League scoring his tenth goal in nine appearances for the west London outfit last Saturday, helping the Blues beat Liverpool with a 2-1 scoreline.

"I think Spain made a fantastic decision not just for us but for them," said Mourinho.

"He has 15 days to get to the top of his game and when they need him they will get a good Diego not a bad one."

"Maybe the injury was good because it stopped him. When he became injured he had time to recover, step-by-step, and at this moment he is in a good condition."

Meanwhile, the former Real Madrid mentor belives that something special might be in the offing this season for his side, who are at the top of the Premier League table and are still unbeaten in all competitions.

"I was a champion in different countries with different clubs and there are points that are always present. I had it at Porto, at Inter Milan and at Real Madrid. I had it here in my first spell and I'm having it now," he intimated.

"It's something that you have to have always - people who are always ready to sacrifice themselves for their team, people that push to help. I'm so pleased about that."
