John Mayer is back on his "Born and Raised" tour after recovering from his throat surgery last August. "I've spent many, many months dreaming of this night," he said to the crowd. Mayer was diagnosed with granuloma in his throat in 2012.

There was a noticeable change in his voice especially when he sang "Waiting on the World to Change", to which he gave up all his falsetto parts. But overall, he delivered an impressive performance with a strong and confident voice.

Mayer mentioned about the surgery to the audience only once and noted how girlfriend Katy Perry stood by his side during his recovery.

"She would order for me...and she would tell people, 'it's nice to meet you,'...When I was in Montana...with bad service... she was so patient as to continue to get to know me and love me," he said.

He then dedicated his final song for the evening, "A Face To Call Home", to Perry. "To Katy, who is my face to call home."

In an earlier interview with Rolling Stone, Mayer admitted that the surgery changed his voice. "I've found new ways around everything - new ways to talk, new ways to laugh. Now I wonder if I can go right back to the shape of my voice that I had when I was singing once I can do what I want to do with it."

The Grammy-Award winning singer also sang four brand-new songs from his forthcoming latest album, Paradise Valley, during the concert. Paradise Valley is scheduled to be released on August 13th.
