Ben Affleck was recently spotted with a massive phoenix rising tattoo on his back, and fans are quick to blame Jennifer Garner and their divorce for what some call an act of mid-life crisis.

The 43-year-old actress said she had nothing to do with it, but she was not shy in expressing her thoughts about Affleck’s ink. “You know what we would say in my hometown about that? ‘Bless his heart,’” she told Vanity Fair during an in-depth interview. “A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario?”

The magazine recently dropped the cover of its March 2016 issue, featuring the “Alias” star wearing a striped blue and white dress with deep-V neckline.

During the revealing interview, Garner finally spoke about her divorce with Affleck, whom she referred to as the love of her life, as well as the highly controversial nannygate. In June 2015, Garner and Affleck announced their plans to separate after 10 years of marriage. Shortly after, Affleck was rumoured to have an affair with the family nanny, Christine Ouzounian. He immediately denied the reports linking him to the 28-year-old nanny.

All this time, Garner kept mum about the issue. In the Vanity Fair interview, she finally broke her silence. “Let me just tell you something,” she said. “We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives.”

Garner has three children with Affleck: 10-year-old Violet, seven-year-old Seraphina and four-year-old Sam.

The actress appears publicly after a long time to promote her upcoming film, “Miracles From Heaven,” which hits the US theatres on March. The movie is based on the book with the same title by Christy Beam, according to the Internet Movie Database, or IMDb. It tells about the story of a young girl with a rare digestive disorder, who becomes miraculously cured as a result of an accident. Garner will play Christy Beam in the film, which also stars Brighton Sharbino, Martin Henderson, John Carroll Lynch, Queen Latifah, Kylie Rogers, Eugenio Derbez, Brandon Spink and Bruce Altman.
