Jarryd Hayne said he plans to attend the match between Liverpool FC legends and Australian legends at the ANZ Stadium on Jan. 7 once he gets home in Sydney.

One of the first things Hayne wants to do after completing his first season as an NFL player is to watch a football game that will feature legends from Australia’s national team and Liverpool FC.

Robbie Fowler, Liverpool FC’s ambassador, will head into Sydney this week along with other legends like Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Ian Rush, John Arne Riise, Bruce Grobbelaar, and Luis Garcia to have a one-time face-off with some of Australia’s greatest footballers, including Brett Emerton, David Zdrilic, Craig Foster, Jason Culina, and Robbie Slater. Ticket prices that range from $29 to $100 (family tickets) is available through Ticketek.

Meanwhile, Hayne is coming off a successful albeit limited stint with the San Francisco 49ers for the 2015-2016 NFL regular season. The Australian rugby league star, who was sacked from the team’s active roster, was recalled last week to start against the Detroit Lions, but his last game with the 49ers for this season only put him in limited playing time.

However, according to Jotham Lian of the Sydney Morning Herald, Hayne’s brief cameo in the 49ers’ 19-16 overtime win against the St Louis Rams has “huge ramifications.” Lian noted that the 49ers was forced to select the former Eel in the season finale to retain his contract rights for the next season or risk other NFL rivals picking up Hayne come offseason.

Hayne, who was selected as one of the four running backs against the Rams, was not featured in the first half of the game. The 27-year-old rookie, however, was used on the special teams defensive unit where he made a tackle late in the fourth quarter.

“From the start of the season it’s been way more than I expected and the experience has been unbelievable,” Hayne said, reports Fox Sports. “I’m thankful obviously for the opportunity the 49ers gave me and in every step, I’ve learned so much.”
