Drake To Release New Album

Canadian rapper-singer Drake on Monday took to Instagram to announce the release of his new album.

“CERTIFIED LOVER BOY SEPTEMBER 3” read the caption. It included a picture of multiple pregnant women emojis.

The album generated attention for its many delays and unconfirmed release dates.

In an ad that appeared Friday during ESPN's "SportsCenter," an apparent intentional glitch showed someone holding up a piece of cardboard that read, “CLB September 3."

"I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery," Drake posted in January on Instagram.

"I'm blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won't be dropping in January."

Drake had said in an interview that the album would be released before the end of the summer.

There were questions as to whether Drake and rapper Kanye West were in a "battle" for when the other would announce their upcoming albums. West released "Donda," his 10th studio album, on Sunday.

Seemingly unphased by West, Drake included a cryptic verse in Trippie Redd's newly released song "Betrayal."

“All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/ Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/ Ye ain’t changin’ s*** for me, it’s set in stone,” Drake's lyrics read.
