There are talks that Filipino champ Manny Pacquiao and American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr could possibly retire from professional boxing in 2015, which fuels the speculation that the dream match must take place before the two pound-for-pound king contenders become too old for the bout.

However, while Mayweather has almost confirmed he only has two remaining fights, both in 2015, before his contract with Showtime ends, Pacquiao quashes the rumours that the would retire too next year amid observations by some boxing observers that he has slowed down and pleas from his wife and mother to end his boxing career.

"I have not set a date or determined an age when I will retire. As long as I can keep fighting at the level than I expect from myself I will continue my boxing career," the Filipino congressman told GMA in the middle of his intense preparations for his Nov 22 bout against American boxer Chris Algieri in Macau.

He said, "I do have on specific goal and that is to give the boxing fans the fight they have always asked for [with Floyd Mayweather Jr]. I want that fight too."

Pacquiao is still 4 pounds short of the catch weight for the WBO welterweight division and is bulking up to make the weigh in on Nov 22. To do that, coach Freddie Roach ordered lesser strenuous training for the match so his ward would not burn all the extra calories he has been taking in.

The southpaw is the heavy favourite to win the bout versus his younger and less experienced opponent who has a fight record of only 20 spread over six years.
