Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was still satisfied with how his squad performed against Besiktas in the Champions League Qualifiers in spite of only coming out with a nil-nil draw.

"It was a difficult match played at a high pace. Besiktas played with 100 per cent pace and did fought for every single ball. We needed a great level of concentration," the French mentor told Arsenal.com.

"We are still a bit short physically with some situations, but overall it was a game played for 90 minutes at great pace."

The Gunners will be fielding in a stronger line-up in the return-leg at the Emirates on Aug. 27, with the three World Cup-winning German internationals expected to be match fit as early as Saturday, as they visit Everton for a Premier League clash.

"We are a bit short at the back, yes you're right," he added.

"But we should have Mertesacker and Ozil and Podolski available again at the weekend. Let's hope they are in good shape when we go home."
