Injuries continue to haunt Arsenal after barely surviving West Bromwich Albion last Saturday.

Nacho Monreal (knee) was replaced by Kieran Gibbs just 23 minutes after kick-off, while the latter also had to deal with ankle problems on the pitch. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was introduced as a late substitute, was also not a hundred per cent.

"Gibbs struggled a little bit with an ankle problem and Monreal with a knee problem. Oxlade-Chamberlain also had a knee problem," said Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The north London outfit still have about four days to prepare for a top-flight fixture against Southampton, and the French manager is hoping that nothing is serious with the said injuries.

"I don't know. We have to see how they recover on Monday. We have Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal and Gibbs who have knocks but I don't know how bad it is," he added.

Overall, he is satisfied with how his charges have performed in, at least, the previous three games, wherein two of which were won.

"We had a clean sheet against Dortmund and we had one today. We had three very good games in the week, one against Manchester United, one against Dortmund and one today," he intimated.

"Unfortunately against Manchester United we didn't win but our performance was there. Defensively we were maybe a bit more stable today but I think against Dortmund we had a very good defensive performance."
