Arsenal attacking midfielder Theo Walcott was thrilled to be grazing the pitch once again, coming on as a substitute against Burnley last Saturday.

The 25-year-old has been unlucky in the past year, to say the least, going down with an abdominal problem in late September 2013 that lasted for two months and thereafter, rupturing a ligament in his knee just thirty days after his recovery, keeping him on the sidelines until the middle of October.

"It's amazing to be back," he told Arsenal.com.

"I know you don't really want to be putting dates in the mind but this date was always in my head that I might get on and have a go."

"It was quite emotional. Everyone's been very patient with me and they still need to be patient as it's not going to happen overnight. It was such a great feeling."

"I want to help this team but we need to be patient. I'll be patient and the boss will be as well. I just want to do what I do best and that's just to enjoy playing football."

There have been rumours that the speedster has lost pace and form due to the setbacks that he had suffered, but Walcott was quick to go on record to refute such claims.

"I feel very quick, very strong and very powerful. All those rumours of Hector [Bellerin] being slightly quicker than me are not true at all!" he added.
