A medical rescue was made to help an obese man who resides in Melbourne, Australia. The obese man was taken out from his house with the help of a forklift. The rescuing took almost four hours.

Paul Bentley, spokesman of Ambulance Victoria, stated that they rushed to the house after the obese man in his 50's called in at around 4:20am and asked for help because he had breathing problems.

In order for the 200Kg man to be moved out from his home, more than 12 firefighters and paramedics involved in the rescue. Due to the man's size, they figured out that it would be helpful if they used special equipments.

The rescuers used a cutting device to make the door wider and in order to cut the legs of the man's chair. They found the helpless man in his lounge room.

After which, the men built 'swings' in order for the obese man to be gently loaded onto a nearby forklift. Before 7pm he was transferred to the ambulance. Ken Brown, Metropolitan Brigade Commander, said that they have to remodel the ambulance to keep the obese man in an upright position to facilitate proper breathing.

"This gentleman was extremely large and very unwell so that made the lift a difficult situation because he had to be kept in an upright position for his own wellbeing and he was pretty sick," Cmdr Brown explained to AAP.

The obese man was rushed to Royal Melbourne Hospital to ensure the stabilization of his condition. It took almost 1 hour for the rescue team to take the man in the said hospital because the ambulance could only travel at 10 kilometers per hour.
