Week 10's marquee Atlantic Coast Conference football match-up features two of the best teams in the country which harbour a fierce and heated animosity for each other.

The Miami Hurricanes have an unbeaten record, but critics have accused them of having a relatively weak schedule. Their concerns may be true as Miami has faced such heavyweights as Savannah State and Florida Atlantic, beating only on ranked opponent in #12 Florida and struggling against so-so ACC teams North Carolina and Wake Forest.

Nevertheless, a victory against their ACC rivals from Tallahassee might just prove to the one that tows them into the BCS national championship conversation. A big win will put them in step with the likes of Oregon and Alabama, at least for a week or two, which might prove to be crucial as the NCAA football season will end in a month. A loss will most probably knock them down to eighth or ninth in the BCS rankings.

For the Florida State Seminoles, a win against a pesky Miami team could pull them up to #2. They have lingered on the sidelines the whole season, starting at #11 in the pre-season polls, but defeated #25 Maryland and erstwhile #3 Clemson in the span of two weeks. The 51-14 win at Clemson came as a bit of a shock as the Tigers were previously unbeaten and were playing at home.
Florida State also needs this win badly as they have little to no chance of redeeming themselves in the succeeding games which includes Wake Forest, Syracuse and Idaho. A loss could affect them the way their win on Oct 19 affected Clemson which fell from #3 to #9 in the BCS rankings. It would be ironic if Miami defeated them at home, too.
