No better storyline in NFL’s Thursday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles but the one that is in everyone’s mind: Andy Reid’s first game versus the team he coached for the past 14 years.

Everyone except Reid, who, as expected did not want that distraction since his team is enjoying early success in the 2013 NFL regular season.

Behind Reid, who coached Philly from 1999-2012, Kansas City is looking for their third straight win this season and their best start since 2010.

The Eagles, meanwhile, split their first two games under Chip Kelly, who has transformed the team’s offense from a slow, methodical style to a fast-paced, no-huddle scheme.

In 2012 with Reid, the Eagles averaged 354.1 yards per game (15th in the league) and 17.5 points per game (29th). Through two games in 2013 with Kelly, those averages got bumped up to 477.0 yards and 31.5 points per outing—both marks rank 3rd overall in those categories.

Both teams’ quarterbacks so far have respectable stats going into Week 3. Each has 4 touchdowns with no interception and has completion percentages around the 60 per cent mark.
