Campaign Against Rape

Similar to the experience of a British woman who was raped more than 300 times by her husband while she was sleeping, a female Vanderbilt University student wasn’t aware she was sexually assaulted by university football players until she saw the video footage.

The 21-year-old unnamed student, who was dating football player Brandon Vandenburg, told the court on Thursday that her date did something with her drink while she was with him at a night club in Nashville in June, reports Fox Sports.

When she woke up, it was hours later in a dorm room. She was unaware of her identity then and how she got into that room. Besides a really bad headache, the woman also felt pain “in certain parts of my body.”

Vandenburg told her that she became very sick and brought her to his room.

University officials who were reviewing the CCTV footage of a dormitory noticed an unconscious female was being dragged inside a dorm room. The Nashville Police advised her to undergo physical examination and refused to believe that Vandenburg could rape her.

However, what changed the woman’s mind was when she was made to preview a footage that show Vandenburg and three other footballers from the university sexually molesting her. The video was from Vandenburg’s mobile phone which the police had confiscated.

One of the accused footballers, Jaborian “Tip” Mackenzie, admitted shooting the rape from a cellphone but said he didn’t touch her.

Vandenburg and Cory Batey, also a footballer, are facing five charges of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Vandenburg also is charged with one count of unlawful photography and another count of tampering with evidence.

Evelyn Coe, a reader of Firsttoknow.com, which published the story, suggested registering the footballers as violent sex offenders and tattooing a big red letter “R” on their foreheads and penises.
