It is time to learn about Kai's (Chris Wood) past and meet the psychopathic witch's family in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 8 titled "Fade Into You." The brand new episode also revealed the storyline on the Gemini coven that has been mentioned since the CW TV series returned with the sixth season.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 8 titled "Fade Into You."

A flashback scene to May 9, 1994 showed what Kai did to his sister Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). Jo was protecting her two younger siblings from Kai who were after them.

In Kai's May 10, 1994 hell, the psychopathic witch brings Bonnie (Kat Graham) to his home in Portland, Oregon. When Bonnie asked to peacefully separate from Kai since she does not have her magic anymore, Kai agreed but he wants Bonnie to have Thanksgiving dinner with him first and listen to his family story.

The present day has Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) preparing for their "Friendsgiving" dinner. The two girls receive the good news about Bonnie as Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric (Matt Davis) head to Portland to find a lead through the Gemini Coven on how they could bring Bonnie back.

When Damon annoyed Stefan with Ms. Cuddles talking about his relationship with Caroline, Stefan grabs the bear and kicks it on the empty field. The trio was stunned to see a mysterious house in front of them.

At Thanksgiving dinner, things started to get awkward when Jo walked in on Luke (Chris Brochu), Liv (Penelope Mitchell) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) watching a video of Liv when she was younger. Revelations started to pour out as Jo acknowledged that it was her who took the video 18 years ago for her twin siblings, Lucas and Olivia.

Caroline, Elena, Tyler and even Liam (Marco James) became witnesses to the reunion of the siblings. However, Caroline had to compel Liam to forget after their conversation shifted to the existence of the Gemini coven.

Jo revealed that twins were meant to lead the Gemini coven and her younger twin siblings' existence poses a threat to Kai's desire of becoming the leader so he went after them. Furthermore, the Gemini coven requires the twins to merge their powers during their 22nd birthday the weaker twin will die.

At present time, Liv and Luke feel the burden of their coven's requirement for a leader. Tyler comforts Liv and promises to protect her.

Back in Portland, Alaric found pictures from inside the house where he recognized Jo while Damon recognized Kai. As they realized that Jo and Kai are siblings, a man suddenly appeared and started to ask questions about Kai.

The mystery man introduced himself as Joshua Parker, father of Kai, Jo, Liv and Luke. However, Joshua cast a spell that once again made his home invisible to Stefan and Alaric.

Joshua is worried that Kai is getting close to finding a way to get out of his prison. Damon had to break the bad news to daddy that he needs the Ascendant because he wants to bring Bonnie back who is stuck with Kai in 1994.

Joshua obviously does not want Kai to return to get back at the Gemini coven so he cast another spell that will kill Jo so Kai will not be able to absorb her magic powers. Before Jo could feel her father's spell, she revealed to Alaric that the Ascendant they are looking for is with her and she hid her magic in the knife that Kai used to gut her out.

Stefan arrived just in time to save his brother from being killed while Joshua disappeared. Damon wants to save Bonnie so he compels Alaric to get the Ascendant for him.

Meanwhile, Elena was able to save Jo from dying with her vampire blood and explained to Liam afterwards what she really is. However, seeing his reaction and realizing how complicated her life is, Elena compelled Liam to forget everything.

When Stefan returned, he apologized to Caroline for pushing her away during the time that Damon was stuck in 1994. Elena talked to Damon about helping her bring Bonnie back because she thinks her best friend can help her decide which direction she should take - a life without Damon or a life with Damon in it.

Back in 1994, Kai realized that Jo hid her magic in the knife when the Gemini coven trapped him in his own personal hell of reliving May 10, 1994. After absorbing Jo's magic from the knife, Kai stabs Bonnie because he now needs the blood of a Bennett witch in order to get out.

Bonnie wakes up to the sound of Kai's pager with the message "I lied." Kai left Bonnie all alone in Portland. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will return with episode 9 titled "I Alone" on Thursday night, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
