South Korea-based firm Samsung announced that there will be a delay regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 line. The company announced that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 line will be likely to be available by the end of April, 2012.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7.0 was scheduled to be released last March in the UK but so far, no Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 were spotted in the market. According to Computerworld, one of the reasons cited for the delay was due to its software. Both models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 were scheduled to have the latest Android version which is Android 4.0 or Android ICS upon its release. A spokesman from Samsung mentioned that Samsung and Google still needed more time to work on the Android ICS for the tablets. Though the Android ICS was identified as the source of delay, the Samsung spokesman denied elaborating more on the details about the delay.

This is not the first time Samsung has delayed its update about the availability of Android ICS on their devices. There were previous announcements that the update for Android ICS in Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Galaxy S II are already available but the implementation has not been actualized. There are a lot of Samsung models that are scheduled for Android ICS update such as Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9, 8.9 LTE and 10.1. Though that is the case, no official announcement has been made regarding the specific date of its implementation.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a tablet that has a 10.1-inch screen and weighs around 588 grams. It has a 1280x800 pixel resolution with a Gorilla Glass in front and 3.2MP camera. It has a dual-core 1GHz A9 processor and 16GB or 32GB internal memory. This tablet also has an option for expendable memory through a microSD slot. The tablet is described as "extremely slim and light" but it has a plastic body which could yield a negative response for users. It is available in both 3G and Wi-Fi versions.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has a 7-inch screen and weighs around 345 grams. It has a much lower pixel resolution (1024x600) with PLS screen. This tablet also utilizes a dual-core TI OMP 1GH processor. It is available in three different memory options: 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB with an expandable memory through microSD.

Many experts consider the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 as the tablets that could beat the biggest competition in the market: Apple's new iPad. In order for this prediction to be true, Samsung still has to uphold its promise of making the devices available to the market as soon as it is possible.
