All but one of the professional mixed martial arts bouts of Ronda Rousey have ended in the first round. Her dominating performance inside the Octagon have paved the way for many to crown her the best the sport has to offer and even went to various lengths of proclaiming that she would hold her own and even beat most of the male bantamweight UFC fighters.

Boxing legend Roy Jones, Jr. joins the foray of admirers who have taken a liking for the most dominant fighter in Dana White’s promotional outfit. He is so enamoured with the fighting prowess of “Rowdy” that he becomes the new voice to proclaim that the 28-year-old judoka is the female version of Mike Tyson.

“Yes, she is just like Mike Tyson and yes I would pay every time to watch her destroy somebody, I don’t care if it’s 10 seconds,” Jones Jr. told Ariel Helwani during his appearance at the MMA Hour. “But because I know what she’s coming to do, I’m gonna pay to watch her, because I’m gonna be entertained for them 10 seconds that she’s in there.”

Rousey showed her killer instinct once again when she quickly triumphed over number 2 contender Cat Zingano during UFC 184 last Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. At the opening bell, Zingano rushed towards Rousey with the intent to unleash a flying knee. The attack was anticipated by the champion and reversed it into an arm bar submission just 14 seconds into the match. The submission time now makes her last 3 fights end in just a total time of 96 seconds with the last one the quickest to complete in terms of title fight history.

Jones joins UFC President White who has once proclaimed Rousey to be in the mould of Tyson who draws awe with his knockout punches. Rousey was humbled by the comparisons and at one point in 2013 said that she is in the say in the sense that “one will never anticipate what will happen in her fights.” White’s logic behind putting his most precious talent alongside boxing’s most polarizing figure is that whether Tyson wins a bout in five rounds or five seconds is always must-see television due to his showmanship and power.

Rousey is starting to deliver the enigma that follows an undefeated fighter with plenty of women challengers such as Bethe Correia, Cris “Cyborg” Justino and Holy Holm all willing to put the first dent into her immaculate slate. Rousey is taking some time off the Octagon while focusing on her next feature film with director Peter Berg.
