Finally there is good news at the “Prison Break” front. One of the main characters have been confirmed for the limited series relaunch and it’s none other than Michael Scofiled’s (Wentworth Miller) love interest, Dr. Sara Tancredi, played by Sarah Wayne Callies.

Fox announced the news on Friday, much to the excitement of “Prison Break” fans. Miller and Dominic Purcell have also more or less confirmed a comeback for the show. Thus, fans won’t have to adapt to new characters as their most beloved characters are back. Callies, like her other co-stars, was facing scheduling issues but assured fans that she wanted to be a part of the revival.

Callies also stars in USA Network’s “Colony” and was a former member of “The Walking Dead” squad.

“When clues surface suggesting that Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever,” the network revealed.

It was previously announced that Tancredi would be seen in the new season as settled with new husband Scott Ness (Mark Feurstein). However, tensions may appear between the two when Tancredi will find out that Scofield is alive. Details of how Scofield returns from the dead have been kept under wraps and nobody knows how he will deal with his brain tumour.

Callies had previously revealed that she has kept every single script from the show and will be more than willing to go through them once again if she signs up for the revival. The 38-year-old actor also said that she kept a journal and made notes every day during filming, carefully documenting her mistakes and her thoughts. Thus, it is clear that if is she reprises her role, she would be more than ready.

The new series will consist of nine episodes. The exact airing date hasn’t been announced yet. However, it might air late this year or in 2017.
