Oscar De La Hoya reveals that he is losing patience waiting for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight to happen. The Golden Boy Promotions president claims that he has been waiting for the mega fight for ages but now, he is no longer looking forward to that fight.

Thus far, De La Hoya is positive to collaborate with Top Rank promotions to put up a fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. The retired Mexican-American boxer thinks that the Canelo vs. Cotto fight can go as high as 2 million pay-per-view buys similar to the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather and Canelo vs. Mayweather fights did.

"I'm still optimistic like very fan out there, I'm waiting patiently and my patience is starting to run out, and I'm now I'm smiling over Cotto-Canelo, which I know will fill the void that fans have," De La Hoya said according to a report in USA Today.

The 41-year-old De La Hoya believes that the Canelo vs. Cotto fight can take boxing to a whole new level and it is the kind of fight that he is hoping to see. He further added that Miguel Cotto will make a huge fight and the Canelo factor will take the pay-per-view buys to a whole new level.

On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather reportedly has already done his part to make the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight happen. The undefeated American boxer has laid out his conditions to make the fight happen and it is up for the Manny Pacquiao team to fulfil his wishes.

Just recently, the former strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao, Alex Ariza revealed via the Boxing Scene that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will not happen as long as the Top Rank Promoter, Bob Arum is involved in the negotiations.

Ariza made it clear for the fans who believe that death of the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight was entirely caused by the Team Money. Contrary to popular belief, the biggest mega fight in boxing wasn't killed by Mayweather.
