Nick Kyrgios is set to join the 2015 Australian Open but he won't be at his full fitness level. According to his coach Todd Larkham, the 19-year-old tennis superstar will play at the first Grand Slam event of the year but he will not risk a long-term injury.

On Wednesday, the Australian professional tennis player pulled out of the doubles match at the Sydney International, while nursing the pains and aches of his injury. Late in the match, Nick Kyrgios suffered a knee injury but it does not concern his coach.

"I doubt he will be 100 per cent fit for the Australian Open, but in saying that there are always players who go out there with a niggle in their knee or shoulder or whatever," Larkham said. "I can't say he's going to be 100 per cent fit but I know he will be playing and giving it 100 per cent of what he's got to offer."

Despite the recent injuries of the 19-year-old, Larkham is pretty adamant that there will be no long term health issues that will arise if Kyrgios will push through playing at the 2015 Australian Open. The coach believes that nothing serious will happen to Kyrgios because the injury is neither a disc problem nor a stress fracture.

On the other hand, the Australia's men's no. 1 doubts that he will be at his best for Australian Open next week. He said that he was shattered and had not the right preparation after he lost to Jerzy Janowicz 6-1, 6-7, (6-8), 7-6, (7-5) at the Sydney International. After Kyrgios' first defeat following four months of recovering from injury, he said that he can only do so much for the 2015 Australian Open.

According to the teenager, he will do the best that he can but he is not at the level that he wanted to be. Last year, Nick Kyrgios defeated the world no. 3 Rafael Nadal at the Wimbledon. Following the Australian Open, Nick Kyrgios is set to have a break then return to play in Marseille on February 16 in preparation for the Davis Cup on March 6.
