The St. Louis Rams are planning to keep Sam Bradford as the starting quarterback for the team in the 2015 season of the National Football League, or NFL. The latest update on the QB situation of the team was confirmed during the introductory press conference for new offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, who was promoted to the position early in February.

“I had a lengthy discussion with Sam, yes, prior to making the decision. It was part of the information gathering process. Sam was very forthcoming. He had some firm opinions. I really enjoyed and appreciated his input,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch saying that they consulted Bradford first before promoting Cignetti. “Same system for Sam, same system for the rest of his teammates. That was very, very important, and it was about how we get better. How we become more productive.”

Bradford suffered a season-ending knee injury in August of 2014. He missed 6 of 16 games in the 2010-2011 season and another 9 of 16 in the 2013-2014 season due to various reasons and the latest is the second major knee injury in the career of Bradford. Early in February, there were reports that the Rams are aiming to restructure Bradford’s contract to help the financial situation of the team. St. Louis has the option of getting out of Bradford’s final year of his rookie contract worth $12.985 million but it appears both sides are now agreeable to ta long-term partnership or at least for the 2015 NFL season.

Fisher confirmed in the report that they want Bradford back starting under centre when he’s healthy. In his first year with the Rams, Bradford threw for 3,512 passing yards on 354 of 590 completions or 60.0% completion rate with 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. In 2012, his third year in the league, Bradford threw for 3,702 passing yards on 328 of 551 completions or 59.5% completion rate with 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
