The Golden State Warriors cruised past the Memphis Grizzlies 119-69 on Monday (Tuesday AEDT) as the defending champions continue to roll in the 2015-2016 NBA regular season. Stephen Curry scored 21 of his 30 points in the third quarter following his 53-point performance against the New Orleans Pelicans at the weekend.

The Warriors did not need any fourth-period contribution from the reigning MVP, who sit out the last 12 minutes of the game with the Dubs up big. Curry, who just won Western Conference Player of the Week honours after averaging a league-best 39.3 points, helped Luke Walton to have a successful campaign as the team’s interim coach.

"Big picture, I knew if we started off slow it wasn't the end of the world,” Walton said, reports ESPN. “But the NBA game is at a point now that there's so much media, so much social media that without Steve [Kerr] here if we would have lost a game or two early on it would have been a ton of stories all over the place."

Festus Ezeli recorded his first career double-double, posting 11 points and 10 rebounds as he takes the place of an injured Andrew Bogut, who has missed three straight games after failing the league’s concussion protocol. According to CBS Sports, Bogut remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol and has yet to be cleared after taking a hit to the during the Warriors’ opener win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Marc Gasol and Mike Conley were the only Grizzlies who scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points apiece. The Grizzlies now fall to two wins and two losses as they visit Demarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, James Harden shook off a rusty start in the NBA season to help the Houston Rockets grab their first win and break a three-game losing streak. Harden scored 37 points on 12 of 26 shooting to carry the Rockets past over the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-105.

"I'm sure all great shooters go through droughts,” Harden said. “It's a long season and I'll go on five, six, 10-game streaks where I'm just on fire and it will even itself out."

Ty Lawson had a double-double game with 14 points and 11 assists, while Dwight Howard added 16. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored 29 and 25 points, respectively.
