Motorola Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx are slated to receive their Android 4.0 or Android ICS update based on the recent announcement made by Motoroloa. Even if Motorola has not disclosed any specific date, the smartphone manufacturer revealed that the update is already rolled out but on the hands of their beta testers.

Motorola has promised users that they they will be getting their Android update by June 30, 2012. It seems that the target date is feasible since as of the moment, the update is already available for beta testers. The Beta testers who have received the Android update would be able to test and examine it for last-minute bugs and network problems before officially revealing it to the public.

For the past months, the Android update has been a cause of frustration for some users especially in the U.S. because of a recent incident with the mobile provider, Verizon. The mobile carrier has supposedly sent a text message to users regarding the upcoming update and the instrunction that they need to delete a certain app (Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app) because it is not supported by the Android update . As it turns out, the text message was a spam and it did not come from the U.S. carrier.

Australian users who are using Motorola Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx would need to wait a little longer in order for the update to officially roll out in the U.S. before receiving their own Android updates in Australia. Australian users should also wait for an official announcement from their mobile carriers regarding the specific schedule for their Android ICS update.

Though this update for Motorola smartphones are expected to push through all around the world, the specific date and availability would still be dependent on their respective mobile carriers.
