Microsoft Surface 3 will be available for sale in Australia for $499 from May 5 and in order to lure customers, Microsoft has announced a limited period trade-in offer, in which Surface RT or Surface 2 users can trade-in their old working devices and avail up to $150 towards a new Surface 3, according to reports.

Besides Australia, the other countries where Microsoft will sell its Surface 3 include United States, Taiwan, Thailand, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Korea and Hong Kong, as stated in Microsoft’s official web page. From May 7, Microsoft will make its Surface 3 available in Austria, Denmark, Belgium, France, Finland, Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland and United Kingdom. The new accessories for the Surface 3 include Surface Pen, Surface 3 Type Cover, Surface 3 Screen Protector and Surface 3 Docking Station, mentions the official web page of Microsoft.

Microsoft has also announced the limited period trade-in offer for the Surface 3 tablet only in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, reports NDTV Gadgets. Under the trade-in scheme, the company will first decide on the value of the trade-in, after which, it will accept the old Surface tablet (in working condition). After checking the tablet, the company will send an email with a promo code that can be used against purchase of the new Surface 3 tablet, as per the NDTV Gadgets report.

Microsoft Surface 3 sports a 10.8-inch full-HD display and runs Windows 8.1 and as claimed by Microsoft, the new Surface 3 tablet is the lightest and thinnest Surface, which is 8.7 mm thick and weighs 622 grams, reports NDTV Gadgets. The publication also mentions that Windows 10 upgrade will also be available to the Microsoft Surface 3.

Surface 3 will be available in a 64GB built-in storage model featuring 2GB of RAM and a 128GB built-in storage model that features 4GB RAM. The tablet also sports a Mini DisplayPort, USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, mini Display Port, Ethernet jack and an optional dock with four USB ports, as per the NDTV Gadgets report. The Surface 3 will also be available with a free one year subscription to Office 365 alongwith 1TB of OneDrive storage and it also supports the Surface Pen, reports NDTV Gadgets.
