First lady Michelle Obama slayed it completely in the style department with her various looks last week. Her latest was when she stopped by at “The Late Show with David Letterman” in New York City on April 30. It was her last appearance on the show and she looked chic and fashionable in a Narciso Rodriguez dress, according to WWD.

For her final appearance on the show with David Letterman she chose a striking blue flared dress from the designer’s label. The sleeveless iris wool crepe dress had a plunging V neckline and the hemline ended below her knees. Michelle paired her dress with black high heel pumps and accessorised her look with matching earrings and bracelet while flashing her metallic manicure. She kept her dark and glossy tresses styled in her favourite straight look. Her flawless make-up consisted of some mascara, eyeliner and super glossy lips.

The Cuban-American designer is known for his simple, classic and modern pieces that stand out in terms of strong colour. Rodriguez first dressed the first lady in November 2008 during the presidential elections. Since then Michelle has continued to wear Rodriguez to domestic and international state functions, like her trip to South Africa.

“I always feel a sense of pride when the first lady chooses to wear my designs. She is an extraordinary woman and an inspiration. I thought she looked fantastic last night on Letterman,” said the excited Rodriguez on May 1. Talking about the presidential elections back in 2008, the designer said that Michelle choosing to wear a dress from his Spring Summer 2009 collection was a great honour for him and a high point of his career.

Earlier in the day, the first lady wore an arty dress for the art dedication of Whitney Museum in Manhattan. The red, white, and blue tulip-printed dress from Thakoon’s Resort collection had three-quarter-sleeves. The pleated hemline of the skirt added a feminine touch to the outfit. She completed her spring look with sparkling earrings and classic black pumps. Her locks were styled into long waves with pink lips complimenting the ensemble.
