The first lady of U.S. Michelle Obama dazzled at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner in Washington DC on April 25, according to People. The 51-year-old made her appearance in a glittering silver dress and curled hair. The custom beaded dress is American fashion designer Zac Posen.

Known for her sense of style, the first lady looked stunning in her designer ensemble and her new hair ‘do’. Though she usually keeps her dark and glossy tresses straight, her shimmering outfit coupled with her hair gave a very retro feel to her look. Though many A-listers were in attendance, FLOTUS managed to steal the show this year too. Titled nerdprom, the night is the most important event in the social calendar of the country.

The nerdiest nights saw a plethora of gorgeous gowns and dapper tuxedos on the red carpet. But the mother of two managed to stun one and all by her outfit choice for the occasion. She paired her ensemble with matching high heels, while her flawless make-up consisted of lots of mascara, eyeliner, a hint of blush and eyeshadow and wine coloured lipstick. Michelle accessorised her look with large embellished earrings in black. Meanwhile, Posen took to Twitter feeling proud that Michelle was dressed in his gown.

Meanwhile, “Orange Is The New Black” star Laverne Cox, Cecily Strong and Idina Menzel wowed in their outfits on the red carpet for the night. Laverne opted for a classy metallic silver dress by Ines Di Santo with a floor sweeping train. She paired her glistening gown with a diamond bracelet, earrings and a chunky ring. She flashed her white manicure as she held onto her reflective, mirror clutch by Jill Haber. Her blonde locks were kept centre parted with blown out loose waves. Cox went in for nude makeup which was also popular amongst all the WHCD guests.

“Saturday Night Live” star Cecily Strong stunned in a black and purple floral J Mendel gown paired with nude make up. She capped off the humorous roast as the celebrity host along with President Barack Obama. Idina Menzel, the voice behind Disney’s hit animated musical “Frozen” hit the red carpet in a Monique Lhuillier floor-length gown. The ensemble featured a pink halterneck bodice, red A-line skirt and embellishments across the waist. The 43-year-old completed her look with silver Brian Atwood heels, Jacob & Co jewels and a purple Judith Leiber clutch, while flaunting her blonde locks. [See The Pictures Here]
