Melissa McCarthy showed off her three stones weight loss as she hit the red carpet at an event for shoe designer Brian Atwood in Los Angeles on Friday. The comedienne was dressed in an ankle length flowing black dress for her evening out. The 45-year-old actress, who has been steadily losing weight, was glowing.

McCarthy’s black dress featured loose sleeves and a polka-dot design. It also had a high neckline with a keyhole detailing. The “Bridemaids” star looked slimmer in the dress which she paired with nude peep-toe ankle strap high heels.

The actress accessorised her look with a chevron cheetah clutch, earrings and a number of rings. Her brunette tresses were styled into old Hollywood waves and kept in a side parting. She added a pop of colour with red lipstick, People reported.

McCarthy also flashed her black manicure and deep red pedicure. She also applied mascara and black eyeliner, peach blush on her cheeks and bronze eye shadow. The star who is the third highest paid actress in the world and made a whopping $23 million in 2014 has reportedly lost around 50 pounds, though she has not given the exact figure of her weight loss, Mirror UK reported.

Melissa launched her own clothing range for plus-size women Melissa McCarthy Seven7 clothing line in August 2015. She joined a host of other celebrities at the star-studded event including Kris Jenner, Kate Hudson and Rachel Zoe . She co-hosted American show designer Brian Atwood’s event and slayed the red carpet as she posed for the cameras.

The 46-year-old actress said her weight loss secret was a low-carb diet. “Melissa has been on a high-protein, low carb diet,” said a source, adding that she has been making small changes and seeing big results. The motivation behind her weight loss was a desire to be healthy for her daughters, Vivian and Georgette, with husband Ben Falcone, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported.

Meanwhile, a friend of the actress said that McCarthy realized she was not as healthy as she could be. She wanted to lead from the front for her kids and wanted be around to become a grandmother.
