McDonald’s (MCD) had sweetened up its menu with a new McFlurry flavor just in time for the summer season.

The new Chocolately Pretzel McFlurry will be available at participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, starting on May 25 only for a limited time.

Featuring vanilla soft serve mixed with chocolate-covered pretzel bits and topped with caramel swirl, the Chocolately Pretzel McFlurry is the “perfect combination of salty and sweet,” McDonald’s said.

This is the first new McFlurry flavor released from the burger chain this year, which McDonald’s is likely betting will attract customers to its restaurants, especially as consumers become more budget-conscious as inflation drives the price of most everything higher.

According to CNN, McDonald’s raised its food prices by 6% in 2021 amid the inflation surge, and in the first quarter, menu prices were 8% higher than they were a year earlier.

But overall, the chain is faring well, as global comparable sales increased by 11.8% during Q1 across all segments. U.S. sales spiked 3.5%, which was driven partially by “strategic menu price increases,” McDonald’s said in its 2022 first-quarter earnings report.

McDonald’s menu also includes the Oreo and M&M’s McFlurry flavors.
