Australia, get ready, you are going to have a musical Labour Day next year! Legendary pop stars Lionel Richie and John Farnham are getting together for a musical journey on March 2, 2014 in Australia. The shows will take place in several Aussie cities including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Organizers of the concert, which falls on the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend, said Farnham would kick off the show while the "Hello" singer Lionel Richie will conclude the evening. It has been a dream come true for Farnham, who has previously co-toured with stars such as Olivia Newton-John, Sir Tom Jones and Stevie Nicks.

"You never think these dreams will actually come true," says the singer.

Richie also thinks highly of Farnham and is equally excited to work with him. "He pours his heart into a ballad and gives everything to an anthem," said Richie of Farnham.

The tour kicks off in Swan Valley on March 2 next year. The two influential stars, both in mid sixties, will enthrall the audience in several cities. The duo had very successful careers in the era of 80s when pop music was the most enjoyed genre of music. Farnham initiated his career with bestselling "Whispering Jack" album in 1986.

Coincidentally Richie released "Dancing on The Ceiling" in the same year which later became the top selling album in the U.S. Billboard. He is a five-time Grammy Award winner Richie who has sold more than 100 million albums. Richie also writes his own songs and his most famous numbers include "Hello" and "All Night Long."

The two superstars, both 64, also plan to co-headline three shows in New Zealand next year. The duo is slated to perform at CBS Arena on March 20, at TSB Bowl in New Plymouth on March 22 and at Vector Arena in Auckland on March 23.
