Most flagship smartphones of 2014 came in metal or glass. The LG G4 came in plastic and this allowed users to customize their handsets. Rumours are rife the LG G5 will arrive with a metal unibody design.

Citing a Korean source, G for Games said the LG G5 will arrive wrapped in full metal body. On th eother hand, the LG V10 flagship smartphone is fitted with a secondary display and also comes with a stainless steel frame that increases the durability of the chassis.

As of this writing, it’s not known what kind of metal the company will use on the LG G5 considering the LG V10 comes with topnotch specs and very strong construction. Sales of the plastic LG G4 aren’t very impressive and it’s because of this reason LG will want to release the LG G5 with a metallic body.

When the LG G4 was released, LG heavily marketed features like a user-replaceable battery and microSD card support. In this year when Samsung launched the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 with glass and metal combination construction, it had to do away with microSD support and a user-replaceable battery.

Hence, it may so happen the LG G5 might not feature a microSD card slot. Other smartphone makers like HTC, however, have said it’s possible to provide expandable storage along with a unibody design, iDigital Times reported.

The Korean source didn’t reveal any information about the rumoured specs of the LG G5. Speculations indicate the handset will feature a 5.6-inch flexible display; a Snapdragon 820 chipset along with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, according to Christian Today. It’s likely to sport a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 10 megapixel selfie camera.
