Only Nexus devices have received Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates, but the OS will soon be released for non-Nexus devices, too. LG G2, G3, G4 and G Flex 2 in the LG series will get the new OS updates as long as these phones are on AT&T, Sprint, Mobile and Verizon.

Some time back, the LG G4 was supposed to have been the first to get the 6.0 Marshmallow update, but for some reason the release was delayed. As of now, it’s final that the LG G4 will soon receive updates in Europe from Q1 next year, said Neuro Gadgets.

Meantime, rumors are doing rounds the LG G4 will receive the update from February 2016, and other LG devices like the G2, G3 and G Flex 2 will follow thereafter. Android’s latest Marshmallow 6.0 will be released over OTA, which means that a device will be updated automatically depending upon the place or country.

Android 6.0 is defined as a refinement of the functionality and core features introduced in Android Lollipop. Visually appealing, 6.0 Marshmallow has features like home screen, lock screen, app drawer, notifications and quick settings, system UI tuner and dark theme.

‘Doze’ is the rage with Marshmallow. Described as an intelligent battery management option, Doze saves on battery power when you’re not using your phone. While other devices lose 15 to 25 percent of their average battery life, Marshmallow OS loses a minimal 3 to 5 percent, reports Android IT.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with many significant features that make it unique. Check for the update by following Settings-About Device-Software. Tap on “Check for updates” and you’ll learn if your LG device is updated to 6.0 Marshmallow.
