LG electronics will roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its devices as early as next week. It will start with the premium flagship LG G4.

The company will begin rolling out the latest version of the operating system by Google in Poland. However, LG promises that it will be followed by the Americas, Asian and the rest of the European markets. However, the South Korean tech giant has not yet confirmed the specific date for bringing in the new mobile operating system. Last year, LG also rolled out the Android 5.0 update to G3 in Poland first.

“By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company.

“While speed alone isn’t an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first,” added Yie.

Moreover, G4 will not be the only device to get the latest version upgrade of the OS. Further details, such as schedule and list of devices to be receiving the Marshmallow update, will be communicated in respective markets, said LG. The prompt release of the latest mobile operating system gives LG an edge over market competitors including Sony and Motorola.

The recently released LG V10 comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The device is also expected to jump to marshmallow soon. However, there is no news on LG G2 and the LG G Flex 2 getting the update, reports Tech Times.

In the meantime, HTC, Motorola and Sony have already revealed the list of devices set to receive the most recent Android version by Google, reports Engadget. In the U.S., T-Mobile has also confirmed the smartphones to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow which include LG G3, LG G Stylo, Nexus 5,6,7,9 and Galaxy Note 4, Note 5, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Tab S2.

The over-the-air upgrade of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in an enhanced user experience. LG shared that the OS version update will introduce quite a few new features like Doze mode, Apps permission, Android Pay, Auto backup, Now on Tap, USB Type-C port and Quick Fingerprint Access .
