Diesel During 'Fast & Furious 6' Premiere At Universal Citywalk, Los Angeles

"Fast & Furious 7" actor Vin Diesel would be next seen in the action fantasy film "The Last Witch Hunter." The actor recently took to Facebook to announce the release date of the film.

"The Last Witch Hunter" will be released on October 23rd 2015... less than one year away... Naturally, I was excited and wanted to share it with you first...Thanks for the love," wrote the actor on his social media account along with a smiling picture.

Produced by Lionsgate Entertainment, the film stars Diesel as Kaldur. He is the last witch hunter to have survived and is an immortal. He would go on a mission to save New York City from a plague along with another witch played by "Games of Thrones" actress Rose Leslie. They would share an uneasy alliance but would team up together for the sake of humanity.

Along with "Fast & Furious7" Diesel has been using Facebook to promote "The Last Witch Hunter." The actor has more than 85 million followers and this could prove beneficial for the film. The film would face competition from live-action "Jem and the Holograms" and another untitled horror films, which are scheduled to hit the theatres in Oct, according to the reports by Screen Rant.

"The Last Witch Hunter" is being directed by Breck Eisner of "Crazies" fame and has been scripted by Cory Goodman. According to the website, Diesel described the film as the modern day mystical story comparable to "Constantine." The actor also said that his character Kaldur is an unique and interesting character and as the film shoot progress his excitement is building up.

Moreover, Kaldur would be shown living in the world of magic and reality simultaneously. Lionsgate is reportedly expecting huge profits from the film, as Diesel has turned into a powerful force since the success of his "Fast & Furious" films. Apart from "The Last Witch" series, Diesel would also be seen in sequels of "Riddick," "xXx "and "Guardians of the Galaxy." Meanwhile, Diesel's another much anticipated film "Fast & Furious 7," would be hitting the theatres on April 3, 2014. The film is a sequel to "Fast & Furious 6."
