Kate Upton: A Collection of Photos of her Stunning Looks for Elle Magazine September 2013 Cover
Kate Upton graces the September 2013 issue of Elle Magazine and the 21-year-old model shares her experiences since taking the modeling industry by storm.
She began modeling at 19 and things have been different for Kate since then, she said. She warned however, that she may not be covered up like she did for September Elle, but things are not always what they seem for Kate.
Being blonde and beautiful are two things that makes up a dichotomy that is Kate Upton. And one that she had to struggle with when she started strutting her looks at the runways.
"People deal with models like they are children," Kate said in the interview for Elle. "They think they can pull one over on you.
Her personal life has changed she said when she first nabbed the cover for Sports Illustrated in 2012. And things have changed dramatically for Kate, noting that "after [her] first Sports Illustrated cover, [she] felt terrible about [herself] for a solid month.”
She said she felt mistreated.
Kate said, “I'm not a toy, I'm a human. I'm not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s--t out."
Things get worse when she is taken for what she really is not, being “stereotyped as dumb blonde.”
"I was at a photo shoot and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like, 'Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious.' And then they took it away. I was really affected by that," Kate recalled in another news report, adding that the incident made her decide to ink a tiny cross on the inside of her finger.
She quipped, "The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times."
Kate has become a household name after she graced the cover magazine for Sports Illustrated in February 2012. But her popularity began to skyrocket when her video doing the dougie hip-hop dance at Los Angeles Clippers went viral in April 2011.
She is currently filming The Other Woman she co-stars with Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz and Nicki Minaj, among others.
