Jarryd Hayne is now back in Australia and along with him are his NFL gears in his first season with the San Francisco 49ers.

Hayne showed off all his NFL gears from his first year with the 49ers, when he had plenty of challenges as the team’s rookie running back and punter. In his Instagram post, Hayne displayed his 49ers helmet, football, shoes, and even his red-colored mouthpiece.

The former Eel was the topic of an NRL return after Hayne was spotted meeting with Roosters coach Trent Robinson in a hotel in Sydney. According to The Guardian, Sydney radio station 2UE claimed it was a proof of Hayne’s secret meeting in a bid for an NRL return, but the Australian rugby league star just laughed off any of the rumours.

Hayne has been linked to an NRL comeback since being sacked into the 49ers’ practice squad in November. But Hayne starring in San Francisco’s final game of the season suggests the 49ers plan to keep him for their 2016-2017 campaign, with the team retaining the Aussie’s contract rights.

However, Hayne could start from scratch to earn a spot in the 49ers’ active roster, with the team expected to have a new coach following the firing of Jim Tomsula. But the 27-year-old rookie does not seem to be stressed of dealing with a new coach in his second year with the 49ers.

“Obviously with a new coach on board, hopefully he wants me back and, if that’s the case, I’ll be back to Santa Clara, California,” Hayne said.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, the 49ers’s search for a new head coach is nearing its conclusion. Maiocco said that 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has wrapped up his interview with the top candidates for the team’s head coaching job and has travelled to Houston to meet CEO Jed York.

“The top candidates appear to be ex-Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly, Coughlin, Cincinnati offensive coordinator Hue Jackson and Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter,” Maiocco disclosed. “The 49ers also interviewed Buffalo assistant head coach Anthony Lynn and Cleveland offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.”
