The red carpet is any celebrity's chance to strut their stuff, and the Golden Globes red carpet is no exception.

First up is Lupita Nyong'O who walked the red carpet in a red cape dress by Ralph Lauren, the hue of which was just right for her warm skin to glow and shine through without looking like she's in flames.

Lupita was not the only one who embraced red in the red carpet -- Amy Adams also wore a red dress, but with a deep V-neck reminiscent of her outfits for "American Hustle." Taylor Swift, on the other hand, kept it simple by mixing up red and some black in her bustier dress. Emma Watson, Edie Falco and Louise Roe also opted for red or (near) reddish hues for the Golden Globes.

Other colours had their moments at the red carpet as well. Lena Dunham wore a yellow mermaid dress by Zac Posen, while Amber Heard showed off her gams a la Angelina Jolie in her navy blue frock by Versace. Both Taylor Schilling and Olivia Wilde went for green at the red carpet, and Sarah Hyland of "Modern Family" brought some girly flair with her flowy pink dress by Georges Hobeika.

Then, there's Zooey Deschanel who seems to embrace the 90s throwback trend with a beige beaded crop-top and sparkly tulle skirt ensemble by Oscar de la Renta. Her daisy manicure, which she flaunted on her Instagram photo, was also worth noting on her look.

Since then, shimmer was sprinkled all over the red carpet by way of Naomi Watts' slinky Tom Ford number, Michelle Dockery's prom-worthy gown by Oscar de la Renta and Elisabeth Moss's print-and-sparkle combo from J.Mendel.

Not to be missed are the prints and patterns that paraded its way to the red carpet with the likes of newly wed Kaley Cuoco's pink ballgown by Rani Zakhem (she seems to like pink), Tina Fey's red and black frock and Allison Williams's striped-top frock by Alexander McQueen.

But for those looking for some wedding inspiration (bridal alert!), there's an abundance of white dresses on the red carpet. Worth noting are that of Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington (which also accentuates her baby bump!), Margot Robbie and Sofia Vergara (though it's technically black but just in case you want a seriously sexy ball gown for your wedding).
