There are rumors that Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) will die in a future episode of “Game of Thrones.” During a radio interview, Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, joked that the Mother of Dragons will be killed off.

Harington explained that he decided to make up details about the hit HBO series whenever fans would ask him for spoilers. He said that he started lying to people, telling them that Daenerys dies and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) loses a leg.

“I just go all out,” Harington said.

Although the actor was obviously joking, some fans would not take his comments lightly. Previously, Harington apologized to fans for having to lie that Jon Snow would not be resurrected. His character’s death at the end of Season 5 was one of the most anticipated issues in the current season, and people were ultimately relieved to see more of him after he was brought back to life by Melisandre (Carice van Houten) in Episode 1.

Now, fans partly believe that Daenerys will actually have a gruesome death. The daughter of the Mad King was last seen gathering her army and preparing to finally attack Westeros.

Polygon notes that there are reasons why Daenerys’ death can be inevitable in the series. First, she can turn out to be the central villain, aiming to rule all of Westeros and putting her at the top of everyone’s blacklist. Second, author George R.R. Martin seems to have a knack of killing off conquerors, similar to Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa), Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and Rob Stark (Richard Madden), among others. Third, Daenerys could be murdered by her own dragons, which she cannot fully keep under control. Fourth, she may be killed by the Whitewalkers, considering that her dragons are the ultimate threat to their domination.

Finally, there has been assassination attempts against her and one may eventually succeed soon. She also continually stirs the emotions of Daario Naharis (Michael Huisman) and Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen). Jealousy may ultimately result to her being killed by one among her own.

“Game of Thrones” airs next on June 12, 2016.
