Leaked pictures from Almeria in Spain reveal that the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 crew is preparing to film scenes at this location. Another team is said to be working in Crossgar, Ireland.

According to a report by LaVozdeAlmeria, the production crew of the popular TV series has reached Almeria and filming is scheduled between Oct 10 and 23. Trucks from Belfast have reportedly reached the hamlet of El Chorrillo Sierra Alhamilla in Pechina, which is a municipality in Almeria.

The production crew is said to be busy unloading the material from Belfast and construction work is expected to begin from Monday. It is still unclear what the team is building, but sources have reportedly revealed that they may be building something in a circular shape, similar to a temple. The report notes that Pechina was also a filming location of Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”

Traditionally two teams, Dragon unit and the Wolf unit, have been used by the producers to film at different locations simultaneously. While one unit prepares to film scenes in Spain the other team is already busy in Ireland. According to a report by WinterIsComing, “Game of Thrones” Season 6 scenes have so far been filmed in various locations including Dublin and Saintfield.

The team is said to have now moved to Crossgar in Ireland, which is south of Saintfield. Signposts stating that the production crew is working at the location have reportedly been placed near the set. The report suggests that filming at this location is not a major affair and the shooting may be restricted to just one day.

Another filming location where shooting is expected to begin soon is Ballintoy Harbour. The landscape around the harbour will also reportedly be used to film scenes and the report points out that the location seems very similar to the Iron Islands.

One major scene of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 that the report expects to be filmed at this location is the Kingsmoot, which is a ceremony in the Iron Islands to choose their king. New actors and their respective characters on the show are yet to be announced by the producers. The Sand Snakes of Dorne were a major new addition in the last season.
