A spokesperson for former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed that she and her family now live in Australia.

The confirmation after Ardern was spotted looking at properties for sale in Sydney.

Jacinda Ardern Now Lives in Australia

According to The Guardian, Ardern's spokesperson said that "For the moment they're basing themselves out of Australia – they have work there, and it brings the added bonus of more time back home in New Zealand."

The spokesperson, however, did not provide details on when the family arrived in Australia. The spokesperson also did not elaborate on what kind of work the family was doing in the country.

As previously mentioned, rumors of Ardern's move to Australia emerged after she was spotted looking at properties in Curl Curl, Freshwater, and Gerringong, according to news.com.au.

The Guardian notes in its report that Ardern's move to Australia may strike a nerve within her home country, which is currently dealing with record numbers of citizens leaving due high costs of living, high unemployment, and a weak economy.

It should likewise be noted that Ardern and her family resided in the USA and UK before their move to Australia.

Jacinda Ardern served as the 40th prime minister of New Zealand. She was in office from 2017 until her resignation in 2023.

She was the world's youngest female head of government at age 37. She is also the world's second elected head of government to give birth while in office.

As New Zealand's prime minister, she led her country through a series of crises, including the Christchurch attack and COVID-19 pandemic. The Christchurch attack, in particular, led to serious gun reforms in New Zealand.
