F1 2017, the next instalment in Codemasters' Formula One video game series, will be open to beta testing for 900 applicants starting next month, per fresh reports. Codemasters recently confirmed that the testing will begin when the 2017 Formula One World Championship gets underway in March.

Codemasters has not provided any specifics on how the applicants will be shortlisted. The game developers have simply started that 300 applicants from each platform (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC) will be able to experience and provide feedback on the game's "new handling model" besides other features.

The Codemasters blog stressed on last year's beta test which helped F1 2016 iron out some flaws before its eventual release in August 2016. "The development team have been hard at work on the next project for some time now, and we can’t wait to share some of the fantastic new game additions with you," Codemasters wrote.

F1 2017: PS4 beta testing confined to Europe, PC and Xbox open to all

"Last year, we ran a very successful programme of community testing and beta tests, in which you gave us some incredible feedback that helped us shape the game. We’re very excited to announce that they were so successful that this year we’re not only widening their scope, but we’re starting the process earlier as well," the game developers wrote on their blog.

The PS4 version of the beta test will be confined to gamers in Europe. However, the Xbox One and PC Betas will be accessible around the world. Racing Junky speculates that F1 2017 will incorporate all the recent rule changes to the sport. "The game will probably incorporate more extensive and longer vehicles. There will be more downforce and much more extensive tires. The greater part of this ought to permit vehicles to shave 3 to 5 seconds off past lap times."
