Dwyane Wade, who has been playing for the Miami Heat since his rookie year, reportedly wants out. Slam Online reported that the 33-year-old guard is asking for higher pay and has until the end of June 2015 to decide whether he will stay with Miami Heat, which is supposed to pay him $16.1 million in the 2015-2016 NBA season. Associates said that Wade is hoping that the team would offer him a huge three-year contract that would secure his status until he is 36 years old. The Heat, however, may be looking to have him play in the upcoming season and then re-signing him for two seasons at a more reasonable price.

Wade and Miami Heat also need to consider his injuries. Miami Herald wrote that Wade missed 20 games in the past season. He also missed 13 and 28 games in the two years before that. Miami Heat President Pat Riley cited that Wade has to change the narrative about his body and injuries. Riley said that it is also important for Wade to be available.

When LeBron James left the Heat in the summer of 2014, Wade opted out of the final two years of his contract, which would have paid him $41.6 million, to allow the team more flexibility to improve its roster. Instead, Wade agreed to a deal for two years valued at $31 million, plus a player option for the next season at $16.1 million.

“With the amount of time he has spent with the organization, every effort will be made to try to work something out. The five times he played for a championship, resulting in three championships, is a significant accomplishment for any professional. We are continuing to talk about a resolution that would be satisfactory to both sides,” said Henry Thomas, Wade’s agent, in the Miami Herald report. "I am going to continue to have conversations with the Heat and try to make this work," Thomas added.
