Christian Lee Gets Shot At Redemption Vs Korean Champion

Ok Rae Yoon captured the ONE Lightweight World Championship after defeating Christian Lee via unanimous decision at ONE: Revolution on September 24, 2021 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are in for a treat on August 26 when newly-crowned ONE lightweight champion Ok Rae Yoon will put his title on the line against Christian Lee in their highly-anticipated rematch.

The South Korean was awarded a title shot against Lee when he defeated both Marat Gafurov and MMA icon Eddie Alvarez within 21 days of each other.

At ONE: Revolution in September 2021, Ok was able to put on the fight of his life and surprise both Lee and the MMA community when he took home the title via unanimous decision.

Lee was quick to express his outrage at the decision in his post-fight interview.

“This decision is not settling with me. If I had lost the fight, I would keep my mouth shut, but I did not lose the fight,” said Lee to the media before making his case as to why he should have kept the title.

The new champion was quick to respond to Lee’s comments during his own interview with the media.

“As a fighter, it’s our job to fight and compete, but it’s the judges’ job to give the decision and the decision was in my favor unanimously. I believe Christian Lee should, as a champion and as a fighter, admit to the decision… The best thing that he can do is accept this defeat and ask for a rematch,” Ok said via a translator.

With the amount of bad blood between the two men, the headlining fight of ONE 160 has all the makings of another razor-thin finish.

Joining them atop the card is Tang Kai challenging Thanh Le for his featherweight title.

The No. 1-ranked featherweight has been knocking out opponents left and right since joining the promotion in January 2019, amassing four of them in his six victories.

Tang has never been put to the test before, and taking on another knockout artist in the form of Le will be his biggest challenge to date.

The Vietnamese-American has won all five of his fights in the Singapore-based combat sports outfit by knockout and will look to extend that streak to six when he faces the upstart Chinese fighter.

ONE 160 is set to take place on August 26 at 6:30 PM SGT (6:30 AM ET).
