The much loved "Castle" couple Rick Castle and Kate Beckett are now husband and wife. After the elaborate wedding preparations in the last season, the only thing that was left for them was exchange of wedding vows, which they did in the last episode "Time of Our Lives." It was an impromptu wedding ceremony and only Beckett's father, Martha and Alexis were there to see Caskett tie the knot.

In the last season's finale, Castle and Beckett were all set to get married at Castle's New Hamptons house. But, Castle disappeared on the wedding day. Speaking about Castle and Beckett's original wedding day, Stana Katic, who plays Kate Beckett in the show, said to TV Line that the twist was a surprise. She thought "Oh my gosh, where are they going to go after this?" and she had no clue how the writers of "Castle" were going to pick up Season 7. "But I've worked with [these writers and producers] for long enough, I'm kind of glad that they're willing to risk a bit, you know?" Stana said.

The actress said that she would have been disappointed if the two characters had not exchanged vows. Stana thinks that Caskett's wedding scene was "romantically written, and sweet the things they said to one another."

Beckett was set to wear her mother's wedding gown in the Season 6 finale. However in the last episode, she walked down the aisle wearing white pants and white top. Stana revealed that they went through some dresses but thought that Beckett would not "want to risk it again, you know, by jinxing it with another dress. It seems like as soon as she has a dress, the wedding falls apart."

In the interview, Stana also talked about the new mythology that revolves around Castle. She said that the current season of "Castle" is focussing on Richard Castle. "And I think the specific focus of this season is what happened to him during those two months, but also what happened to him that inspired him to become the novelist that he is," Stana told TV Line.

Castle and Beckett's Wedding Vows:

Beckett says: "The moment that I met you, my life became extraordinary. You taught me to be my best self, to look forward to tomorrow's adventure. When I was vulnerable, you were strong. I love you, Richard Castle and I want to live my life in the warmth of your smile and the strength of your embrace. I promise you I'll love you. I'll be your friend and your partner in crime and in life. Always."

Castle says: "The moment we met, my life became extraordinary. You taught me more about myself than I knew there was to learn. You are the joy in my heart. You're the last person I want to see when I close my eyes. I love you, Katherine Beckett, and the mystery of you is the one I want to spend the rest of my life exploring. I promises to love you and be your friend and your partner in crime and life till death do us part, and for the time of our lives."
