The chief executive officer of Mayweather Promotions, Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s boxing promotional company, Leonard Ellerbe believes that the undefeated American will be trying to get a knockout against Manny Pacquiao in their fight in May in Las Vegas. Ellerbe is a long-time business confidante and partner of Mayweather Jr.

“Floyd Mayweather is going to try to take Manny Pacquiao’s head off and you can count on that happening,” Mayweather Promotions CEO Ellerbe said to RingTV.com. “He’s looking to finish him off and I strongly believe that will happen.” Ellerbe’s prediction for the upcoming Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is not surprising considering that he has been with The Money Team for a number of years already.

In mid-May 2014, Ellerbe said in various interviews that Mayweather Jr. is not doing anything different in his preparation against Pacquiao as “he would normally prepare” and that Mayweather Jr. is treating this fight like his past fights when he went undefeated in 47 bouts. Mayweather admits that this is the biggest fight of his career and that Pacquiao is a great fighter but has not been involved in “talking trash” like he used to in past fights.

There were rumours of a Mayweather-Ellerbe split in 2014 but both are still working together this year leading up to the Pacquiao fight.

Ellerbe’s prediction that Mayweather will knockout Pacquiao is the same prediction as those from the Mayweather camp including trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who have both stated that Mayweather will finish the fight early and that Pacquiao is not the same fighter as before. Mayweather Sr. also said in previous interviews that their plan is to attack Pacquiao’s body and break him down from there.

“I ain’t gonna say where he gonna hit Pacquiao at but wherever he hit him, we’re planning on doing great bodily harm. Definitely some real damage,” Mayweather Sr. said to theboxingvoice.com in early April.

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight is expected to break record for the live gate attendance ticket sales and pay-per-view buys in the super fight on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States.
