Whether fans will see Mark Ruffalo next in his solo Hulk movie is still uncertain as Marvel still doesn’t own the rights to the character. However, according to recent reports, his last scene in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” subsequently teases his appearance in one of the Phase 3 films under the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Badass Digest writer Devin Faraci, it’s likely for Mark Ruffalo to reprise his role as the angry green giant in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” Hulk will reportedly be the one bringing Star Lord home to his birth planet on Earth. Hulk’s fate in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” supposedly marks his introduction into “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.”

In “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Hulk will reportedly find himself being shot off into space. According to Faraci, early drafts of the film placed the green giant in his final scene on space inside the Quinjet. “Hulk is in a Quinjet very, very high above the Earth, but not quite out of the atmosphere,” Faraci said. According to Comicbookmovie, Hulk’s presence on space could also mean his involvement in “Avengers: Infinity War” as he will reportedly be the one to bring the Guardians back to Earth to defeat Thanos.

It’s also interesting to note Mark Ruffalo’s previous comment about Hulk’s fate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to IGN, the actor seemed very confident when he said Hulk will be headed to space.

Marvel had reportedly initially wanted to put Hulk in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” as a backup in case the first film didn’t become a hit. Hulk’s inclusion in the sequel is believed to bring good favour to the film in terms of box office hits. Likewise, Hulk’s appearance in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” is also being described as a “back door” to having a Hulk solo movie.

Marvel still doesn’t have rights to make a Hulk solo movie because the character is still owned by Universal. Mark Ruffalo confirmed during an interview with Collider that a solo Hulk movie is still up for consideration, although he is very much willing to do a Hulk standalone film. He also teased his appearance in other Marvel films including “Avengers 3 and 4.”
