Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo joined relegation-battling Crystal Palace FC on loan.

The north London outfit's front-line proved too deep for the former Auxerre man after Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud returned to fitness, joining Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck.

"Yaya Sanogo has joined Crystal Palace on loan for rest of the season," a statement read on the Club's official website.

"Sanogo joins Crystal Palace for the opportunity to gain more first team experience."

"Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Yaya the best of luck during his time at Selhurst Park."

Meanwhile, newly appointed Eagles boss Alan Pardew is delighted to have snatched the 21-year-old, as he looks to guide his side to safety until the season ends.

"He's a young player with tremendous promise," said Pardew.

"He is somebody that I have tracked personally and this club has too so that fitted well."

"We have given him an opportunity. He needs to play more games and I think he's ready for that and he proved that at Arsenal."

"It's tough to get in their team but he's closer to the starting action with us."
