Vertu launched its mid-range smartphone Aster. This is a beautiful designer phone that comes 12 months after Vertu Constellation. The device has technology that compliments the design according to the CEO Max Pogliani. Aster is the successor of the Constellation but the size of the screen is 4.7 inches same as the Constellation. This may have a negative impact on the phone as many users would have expected more since it is a phablet.

Engadget reports, Pogliani stated that Vertu does not follow general mass mobile trends including the design of the product. The company develops products that is right for its customers and does not follow generic mobile industry designs that according to him are fleeting than the luxury market. He goes on to add that Vertu customers appreciate compact size smartphones that fit comfortably inside the pocket of a well tailored suit or expensive clutch bag.
