Ultimate Fighting Championship, of UFC, women’s bantamweight contender Meisha Tate asserts she has the tools to finally put a stop to the unstoppable winning streak of UFC queen bee Ronda Rousey. The official number two ranked bantamweight hopeful is eyeing a win for her next fight and for Rousey to also conquer her own challenger; paving the way for a third match-up between the two most recognizable talents in women’s mixed martial arts.

"I think everyone knows that if anyone is gonna beat Ronda, it's going to be me," Tate recently told MMA Fighting.

The 28-year-old American fighter holds the distinction as the only challenger to last beyond the first round with Rousey. While Tate succumbed to Rousey’s renowned arm bar submissions in the two fights she had with the champion, her lasting to almost the distance in their lone UFC bout last December 2013 gives her a much better history as opposed to the most recent opponents of the undefeated champion. Rousey has been impressive in her last three fights with all bouts just needing seconds to finish.

Her last title defence against Cat Zingano wrapped up in just 14 seconds and is in the record books for fastest title defence in history. Considered by many as the one to give Rousey a run for her money, Zingano came out blazing with a flying knee towards the champion only for her attack to be anticipated with a takedown and 14 seconds later, the referee stopping the fight with the threat of a broken arm.

Despite this, Tate is unfazed by her chances is willing to take a third crack at her Strikeforce rival, but first, she has to prove her worth against fellow hopeful Jessica Eye in a bout slated for June in a yet to be named venue. Tate is coming off two successive and impressive victories over Sara McMann and Liz Carmouche and is looking forward to establishing a new strategy against Rousey.

“Cupcake” recently revealed that Zingano’s team made the mistake of rushing head-on to the champion given that Rousey uses most of her energy in the initial salvo. Tate added that if given a third opportunity against Rousey, she would take her time and force Rousey to a different pace. She added that the Los Angeles, California resident uses around 110 per cent of her energy in the first round that her opponents would have to last that round and take advantage of her force waning on in the succeeding rounds.
