Stage 4 of Tour de France 2012 has just finished and it has brought about some interesting results in the race.

Stage four started in Abbeville, France (north side) and would end at Rouen. The course for this stage is considered as a flat ride because it only had 150 meters of climbs in the 24.5-km stage which is located along the English Channel. It had an average speed of 39.2 km/h in a 4-hour time frame which is considered as the fastest average speed of the tour. The final speed reached around 80 km/h.

There was a mishap during this leg of the tour as a massive crash occured less than 3km from the finish of stage 4's race. The crash involved Mark Cavendish. Sean Yates, the director for Sky race remarked about the injuries on Cavendish saying that "he's beaten up". He also added that "I've not had a chance to get too close to him yet but obviously he's not too happy. We need to wait for things to simmer down. It's obviously not ideal that there's another sprint stage today. When you cut yourself, your body requires strength to heal."

Despite that mishap, Andre Greipel from Germany had reason to celebrate as he took the 1st place for stage 4. Here are the full results:
