Lionsgate released the first trailer for Vin Diesel’s supernatural action film “The Last Witch Hunter” on April 29. This is Diesel's next movie after the blockbuster "Furious 7" earlier this year. (Watch the video below.)

Apart from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star, the movie also stars Julie Engelbrecht, Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood and Michael Caine. "The Last Witch Hunter" will be helmed by "Sahara" director Breck Eisner.

According to Variety, Vin Diesel plays Kaulder, a warrior cursed with immortality after defeating the Queen Witch (Julie Engelbrecht). In the present day Kaulder is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down witches. However, the Queen Witch has been resurrected and Kaulder will need the help of a witch (Rose Leslie) to save New York city from a horrible plague.

The 80-second clip opens with a group trekking along a snowy mountain pass as Michael Caine narrates that he has been reading the history of Kaulder's life and has written his fair share of it. The teaser also includes a scene where Vin Diesel is shown holding a sword, telling his adversary that there is something their kind don't understand and have never understood. After a pause he adds, "You will be hunted.”

Michael Caine's character also tells Kaulder that his story has no end. The Variety report suggests that this means there is a possibility of another franchise for Vin Diesel.

A poster of the movie was also published by MTV. The poster features a hand holding a flaming sword. The tag line of the movie "Live forever. Hunt forever," is also written on the poster along with the name of the movie and the release date. The production of the film had been delayed earlier, after filming on "Furious 7" was stalled after the death of Paul Walker's.

"I just read the latest draft of The Last Witch Hunter... wow, amazing," wrote Vin Diesel on his Facebook page in 2014, according to . Diesel also wrote that he needed to "go off alone" to "digest and reflect" on the script. He added that it would be an "exciting challenge" to bring the character of Kaulder to life.

The Last Witch Hunter is set to hit theaters on October 23, 2015.
