English actress Sophie Turner was stunned when congratulatory messages flooded on Twitter because some users mistook her as the fiancée of "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The 18-year-old "Game of Thrones" star, who portrays Sansa Stark in the hit HBO TV series, had to clarify on the social media site that she is not the 38-year-old actor's wife-to-be but the lucky girl is British theatre and opera director, Sophie Hunter.

"Thanks to everyone who is congratulating me but its another Sophie who is marrying Benedict Cumberbatch. Nice one guys haha," Turner posted on her Twitter account @SophieT on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Benedict Cumberbatch officially announced his engagement to actress and director Sophie on Monday, Nov. 3, where some people on Twitter assumed that the "Game of Thrones" actress is the lucky girl to marry the English actor.

According to an Entertainmentwise.com report, Sophie Turner is believed to be dating singer James McVey from The Vamps for several months now. Sophie and James have been teasing the fans with their mysterious messages on Instagram and Twitter regarding their reported romantic relationship.

The report further revealed that actor Benedict Cumberbatch broke the hearts of his female fans when he announced his engagement through The Times newspaper. "Mr B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London," the announcement reads.

E!News' Engagements report claims that the English actor's rep has confirmed as well the engagement news. At the moment, a wedding date has not yet been finalized.

The report further revealed that Benedict and Sophie first met back in 2009 when they were working on the thriller titled "Burlesque Fairytales." However, the two were only confirmed to be a couple back in June 2014 after getting spotted and photographed together at the French Open.

Sophie Hunter's family expressed excitement and happiness after hearing the engagement news. Katherine and Patrick, Sophie's mother and brother, shared to The Mirror that they are happy to receive the lovely news and excited for Sophie and Benedict's upcoming wedding.
